Musical Director

David Francis
David joined Bromyard Choral Society as Music Director in September 2025.David’s day job is CEO of the world renowned Three Choirs Festival, a post to which he was appointed in 2024.
David has led organisations in the UK and Australia (where he lived and worked between 2014 and 2024). In the UK he has held senior posts with the BBC Symphony Chorus, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, The Performing Right Society (PRS) and PRS Foundation (which he developed and launched), Arts Council England and Dartington. In Australia David was responsible for Sydney Philharmonia Chorus, the Four Winds Festival and Wollongong Conservatorium of Music.
David was a postgraduate student in vocal studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and holds an Executive MBA from Exeter Business School. He sings regularly and enjoys leading choirs. Whilst living in Australia he was music director for, and conducted Spirit Allegro, a chamber choir based on the far south coast of New South Wales for whom he often wrote and arranged music.
